Same Product, New Price: Handling Old and New Stock

You hold 10 pieces of a product, buy more, and the supplier's price has gone up. The same barcode now has stock bought at two costs. What should you do?

If the printed MRP is unchanged: one product

Keep one product and one barcode. When you post the purchase, Invoice2Track shows the cost change and lets you choose how the cost updates: weighted average (blends old and new stock by quantity), latest cost, or leave it as is. You can also set a new selling price in the same step.

If the MRP printed on the item has changed: a new product

When customers can see two different prices on two physical items, create a new product with its own barcode so a scan always bills the price printed on that item. This avoids billing the old item at the new price.

Which cost method should I pick?

Then print labels

Print labels only for the newly arrived quantity so old and new stock stay easy to tell apart.
